There aren’t many other things that can ruin the excitement of wedding planning than stress, not knowing where to start and struggling to piece it all together!
Are you feeling that way?? Wondering what to do because you’ve never planned a wedding before and have zero idea of where to start other than string at pretty pictures on Pinterest?!
Well, for starters here’s a couple things you can do to get off on the right foot when you start planning 👉🏼👉🏼
✨PRAY. Getting a clear perspective, asking the Lord for guidance and wisdom is always the best place to start.
✨SET PRIORITIES. Talk through what matters most to you and your fiancé. Are you most concerned with having the best DJ or would you rather spend money on a great photographer? Getting all expectations on the table will make decision making much easier.
✨DETERMINE YOUR BUDGET. Have a clear sense about who is financially contributing to your big day, what you can afford and if there’s any wiggle room. This will dictate so much moving forward.
✨HIRE A PLANNER. Bring someone along side you to help make your day a reality. Making this decision will bring relaxation ti the process and help you be confident in each aspect of your day!

Since we have some new followers and it’s been a little while, I figure now is as good a time as any for an introduction!
My name is Lauren and I’m the owner and lead planner of SL, and I’m so glad you’re here 😄 It’s great to be able to connect over this little corner of the internet.
When I started this business it was truly a result of prayer. My hubby and I had prayed for a job that would allow me to stay home with our daughter and also one that would I would LOVE! I wanted to use my skills in a way that made me feel like I’d found my dream job.
Lo and behold, with that prayer and a couple months time, Spring Lane Event Planning was born. It’s been such a blessing to be able to serve some of the best couples around by giving them back their time in the wedding planning process. I absolutely love when we can carry your load and allow you to enjoy your engagement and invest in your upcoming marriage. Mary & Ben’s wedding day was a literal ✨dream✨
Working with Mary was such a delight! I actually got connected with Mary through my brother because they knew each other in college. The first time we chatted I knew she was going to be a joy ti be around. Her sweet spirit is truly a breath of fresh air 🤍
As we talked and planned, it became apparent that one of the best ways we could serve Mary was by handling all the wedding day set up. Taking care of decor, assisting with florals, etc are all things we do in any of our packages, but we realized this was extra important so Mary and her mom could relax and enjoy the day! Plus, they were planning on getting ready elsewhere and arriving later in the day.
The solution?? 👉🏼 Mary knew she wanted help with this and reached out to us. We took care of setting up the ceremony, cocktail and reception spaces. We set up decor, placed centerpieces, placed name cards, and managed all vendor things. And then, we had Mary take a peak! It was all ready to go by the time she arrived, so she got to soak in a few moments and see the space come to life!
🌟The best part? Mary, her mom, and her bridesmaids got to enjoy the morning TOGETHER. They had hair and makeup done. They are together. They laughed together. They celebrated what was to come, and just made memories together.
So, here’s your friendly reminder to get yourself a planner who’s got your back and will sneak you in to the wedding spaces so you can see your vision come to life before everything starts 😉

We know between the planning and the prepping and the dreaming and the stressing it’s easy to lose sight of that. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the details and spend your time focused on *how* the day goes rather than *what* and *who* it’s about. When we get lost in this mindset, all of a sudden you realize that your wedding day has come and gone and you barely got to spend any time with the person you said you want to spend forever with.
Wanna know what to do about that?? Here’s some tips 👇🏼
📝 Write letters to each other to read before the ceremony. Whether you see each other or do it separately, this will for sure help you focus on what matters most.
💍 Say private vows together! Spend a few minutes expounding on what you promise to each other and God in your marriage. It’s a great way to solidify your commitment to each other.
🍽 Eat dinner together just the two of you before you join in at the reception. You’ll never regret taking time to spend quality time together during your wedding day.
✅ Hire a planner to focus on the details for you (did you seriously think we could avoid the plug?!). But seriously, having someone there to support you as a couple will change the atmosphere of your wedding day for the better!

👋🏼 Hey everyone!
To give a quick introduction for the new faces around here, I’m Lauren, owner and lead planner of SL. Thanks for following along, joining us with a focus on marriage and love for wedding details, and laughing as often as possible 😉
I recognize it can be hard to connect when we aren’t face to face, but here’s some random things about me to break the ice:
🚤 I’m a lake girl who means business when it comes to tubing. It’s both a competition and a skill.
✌🏼 I know all the words to MC Hammer’s “Too Legit To Quit”
💐 One of the most peaceful, self-care activities I love to do is pick flowers at @paulusfarmmarket . The wild flowers are beautiful and such a deal!
🍿 I love watching movies, even though my hubby says I don’t have great taste. The Parent Trap, The Wedding Planner (duh!), and National Treasure are some of my favs.
🐄 Chick-Fil-A is one of my favorite places and probably where I’ll be for lunch!
